Thanks for sharing girls. I wasn’t even there but watching it unfold on tv, I have been afraid of guns ever since & vowed to never shoot one again, even tho I had hunted with my Dad when I was younger, after that, I just couldn’t do it anymore & had an experience while hunting without a gun, after that, hearing those shots took me right back to that & my Dad saying I looked white as a ghost coming out of the timber after that. I don’t ever want to be around guns again. I’m not even sure why it affected me so much, maybe because it was so tragic, first school shooting, & cousins living close to Denver too, not sure but it affected me states away living in Iowa.

This whole thing was tragic, I dident even know these kids but I visited their graves anyway, the one that drew me close was Rachel joy Scott. Now she has a movie and a challenge set at all schools. Very amazing how everyone came together to pay respects. Please heavenly Father watch over our children in all schools around the world and give peace and grace to those who need! Amen

I was in high-school when columbine happened. I am sitting here next to my 17 year old son and he asked what I was watching. I told him this video was about columbine 20 years later. He said, "I don't know what Columbine is" 😳. Well he's about to learn a bit more about it now. Maybe he will understand why yesterday, when I dropped him off at his work, I called out to him as he left the vehicle to say, " I love you and be aware of your surroundings". I have told him before to know his exits, pay attention to what is going on around him. I tell him not to to afraid but be aware. So he knows when I say that that I am reminding him of our conversation. He is homeschooled now and so is my youngest son. I was never in a mass shooting of any kind. I am a veteran though so I am more aware of dangers because of that too. But seeing mass shootings happen so often and having the first one I remember being Columbine, I think about them anytime I'm in a public place (which is why I'm not in public places often). Thank you for speaking out and healing through service is very important. I have issues from my time in the service and found that serving is what helped me too. It helps to not feel helpless. Like I have some control over something. Anyway, may God continue to bless you and keep you in your comings and goings.

trauma? "being sad all the time for a year"? "was crying a lot"? "the pain gets better over the years"?? she heard some gunshots, was told to run and hid for 15 minutes. she then ran out the building to a library. Wow, amazing, such a traumatic event for her lol what a wimp!
